System Description
Pressure Hull:
Cylindrical in shape. Manufactured of A516 grade 70 steel. 47 inches (1.17 m) in diameter and 107 inches (2.67 m) long.
Power Source: Two pressure-resistant cylinders containing 12 lead-acid batteries each provide nominal voltages of 24 v and 120 v.
Maneuvering Control: One 5 h.p. main thruster, stern mounted, jettisonable, capable of training 90 degrees port or starboard. Lateral control via bow thruster. Bouyancy provided by 3 soft tanks, providing 1325 lbs bouyant lift.
Life Support: Oxygen carried internally in two 50 c. ft. tanks. Carbon dioxide removed by absorbent scrubber. Emergency breathing gas via air BIBS.
Viewing: One 40 inch (100 cm.) acrylic viewport located on forward end of pressure hull. Four 4-inch (10 cm.) viewports in conning tower.
Sonar: One scanning sonar.

Manipulators: One five-function, jettisonable. One extendable pan and tilt. Expanded manipulator suite optional.
