The
‘Lama Newt’ Helmet offers a new concept
in underwater vision. The tough polycarbonate bubble allows a complete
panoramic view, with none of the dimensional distortion inherent in
flat view ports. Conventional flat face plates which are used on virtually
all other helmets reduce the field of vision (‘telephoto effect’)
and cause a 30% magnification in the apparent size of objects viewed.
Diving with the ‘Lama-Newt’ allows the wearer to experience
the underwater scene in its real dimensions.
The clear “bubble” also offers unparalleled range of visibility.
The system comes with a demand-flow regulator, and an optional oral-nasal
mask. The clear dome and the easy-breathing nature of the ‘Lama
Newt’ has made it a popular helmet for use in TV and film productions
– even a novice can use it, and his or her hair and make-up
stay dry and perfect – ideal for close-ups of celebrity narrators
or newscasters! No joke: the ‘Lama Newt’ has been so popular
in the TV and film industry that it has spawned a spin-off: the Lama
Newt ‘Talent’ helmet.

| Built to be interchangeable
with the Bubble bonnet of the ‘Lama Newt’, the ‘Talent’
helmet was originally designed and built by Nuytco Research for the
production team of a well-known undersea TV series. Since then it
has really caught on, not only with T.V. and film companies, but also
with commercial divers who appreciate the clever and compact design |
